Mar 31, 2008 Mac equal to Paint Shop Pro Posted: Mar 26, 2008 12:18 PM Reply Email Hi All. The trial will be along in a couple of weeks. However, for editing there is no difference between the mac and win versions, only for organizing/tagging/sharing. I am very, very impressed with Paint Shop Pro X7. I downloaded the trial version and used that (occasionally) for the allowed 30 days and I couldn't believe what I was able to do without really following the tutorials and just kind of winging it. VMware vSphere Client for Windows is officially dead for vSphere 6.5 but for earlier versions you can still use it. Many VMware and IT consultants are still using it when they visit their clients on older vSphere infrastructures. You perhaps still prefer the old vSphere Windows client for Free ESXi hosts too so this post is a recap about VMware vSphere Client Download Page, which exists, and which has different versions of those old Windows clients available for direct download. Before you go and head to this page, let's talk a little bit for which usage one would still need an old version of vSphere client. When working with many VMware customers, you need many versions of vSphere Client for Windows installed on your system (or in a VMw with or Player). Would not be a good idea to have a single VMware vSphere Client Download Page from where you could easily download the ones you need? So far, with each release of VMware vSphere, there has been not only a download of the particular version of vSphere, where within the version bundle you have the vSphere client embedded on the vCenter Server ISO, or Some vSphere version does however provide a link directly to the client download while you are at MyVMware.com. This is kind of bulky. You have the tool which is free but within a vSphere bundle only. But now, it's centralized by VMware. So you don't have to search all over VMware site, version after version, in order to install. Oct 6, 2016 - The most interesting thing is my MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) and there. Boot Camp supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (with OS X 10.6 or later). Boot Camp creates a Windows partition on your hard drive, along with the Mac OS partition. This means that none of your Mac content is touched at all, and Boot Camp has no effect on the operation of Mac OS. The process of running Boot Camp to install a Windows partition includes running a preparation utility on Mac OS (after backing everything up of course), creating the partition and installing Windows, and then selecting which OS to boot into every time the machine boots up. To select an OS during startup you simply hold down the Option key and select the startup disk you want. Boot Camp gives you full access to all the power your MacBook or iMac have to offer, including all RAM, multiple processors and cores, 3D graphics, and all the ports. Using your powerful Mac for both Mac OS and Windows used to require virtual devices, and while VMs have some advantages (allowing you to run both operating systems at the same time), for many users just being able to boot into either is all they want. Since Boot Camp is free, easy to install and use, and is supported by Apple, this is a winner of an app. Boot Camp enables you to install Windows on your Intel-based Mac computer, using a Microsoft Windows install disc that you provide. It’s available for download on android, iOS and windows OS devices. This version of the game is a better one than its console counterpart. A lot of the features of the game have stayed the same but some have been lost. The objective is still the same make it thru the night. Here is the list of the different game commands available in Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac), Pocket Edition (PE), Windows 10 Edition and Education Edition. Installing a minecraft map might seem a little daunting at first, but it is actually a very simple process. This short guide is primarily aimed at Windows users, however it is the same process for most operating systems, only the path to the folder will be different. You can still fight unlimited enemies until dawn breaks. You can chat with friends and other players. The armor and materials you get during game play can be saved and used later. You still get hungry and have to cook and feed your self. Laws of gravity are still in effect in the game. There are three ways you can play the game multiplayer, survival and creative. The new world you play in is a pretty dangerous place there is still lots of useful things to build your land. The graphics of the game are the same as the original one wich makes it awesome to play on your mobile phone. The only downfall i found with the game is it is a little harder to control on a touch screen device than it was with a mouse and key board. Other than that I found the game as enjoyable as the original. Also you cant beat the price of the game either its paid thru the google play store on android. I also really like the fact that if i have internet on my phone i can play with my friends on any device. In all I think if you enjoyed the original you will like the pocket games as well. I know that in my personal opinion i like the pocket game better because i can play on the go and when it is easy for me. I hope you will enjoy the game for desktop/laptop PC as much as i do. ![]() How To Play/Download Minecraft Pocket Edition for PC Follow the instructions below, it’s really easy and it takes about 5-10 minutes to run the game. ![]() Microsoft on Tuesday its new Office 2013 and Office 365 productivity software suites. Lost in the announcement, however, was what (if anything) those suites would mean to Mac users. Macworld spoke to Microsoft representatives to get some clarification. Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 For starters, Office 2013 doesn’t mean anything to the Mac: it’s for Windows computers only. Office 365, on the other hand, does impact Mac users, but it doesn’t introduce any new features; rather, it’s essentially a new licensing model for Office for Mac. A subscription to Office 365 ($10 per month, or $100 per year) gives you the right to download Office software to up to five computers. For Mac users, what you'll download is Office for Mac 2011—it's pretty much the same version of the suite that we've been using for a couple of years now, but it's been updated to include activation for Office 365 Home Premium. Your subscription must be renewed monthly or annually in order to continue to use the software. (A that runs on two computers is available for $80.) If you currently own Office for Mac 2011, you must uninstall that software when you sign up for Office 365. You will then download and install Office for Mac 2011 through your Office 365 account—again, on up to five Macs. Mac users who sign up for Office 365 will also get 20GB of SkyDrive storage (up from the 5GB that comes with a free account) and 60 minutes per month of Skype calls. One of the marquee new features of Office 365 is, a service that allows a PC without Word, Excel, or PowerPoint installed to run those programs via Internet streaming. But Office on Demand is a Windows-only feature; it remains to be seen whether it will be available to Mac users when the next version of Office for Mac is released. Word Web app Mac users do have an alternative to Office on Demand:, which have been available since 2010. Accessible through a account, those apps let you create and edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations using Web-based versions of those apps, then save those documents to your SkyDrive or Mac. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Lync for Office for Mac 2011 have not been tested on macOS 10.14 Mojave, and no support for this configuration will be provided. This means there will be no new security updates, non-security updates, free or paid assisted support options, or technical content updates. However, those Web apps aren’t as full-featured as the desktop versions; SkyDrive does provide the option to open a document directly in the desktop version of each program (provided that app is on your Mac). Unrelated to the Office 365/Office 2013 announcement, Microsoft released an on Tuesday. The update provides several fixes to Outlook and PowerPoint. Editor's note: Updated on 1/29/13 at 7pm PT to clarify what the downloaded version of Office for Mac 2011 offers. You can create professional documents and presentations with Office 2011 available for the Mac. Office for Mac 2011, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, is compatible with Office for Windows, to enable collaboration on documents with virtually anyone, anywhere. Don't know why the links for iTunes were removed, but it's possible that Apple had a fallout with OldApps, or they somehow violated Apple's terms of service. Regarding OS 9 update downloads, since the moderators accepted my 'tip', it's likely that the links are 'involuntarily' broken; i.e. Are the servers near the Fukushima plant in Japan? Maybe the server is temporarily offline. Considering the rising popularity of Apple products and growing interest from the general public, I think it would be in Apple's best interest to make it as easy as possible for people to download the software needed to use their products, even if it meant using an outdated operating system or software. Someone walking around with Apple products is free advertisement for the company. I know people that would be impressed by a machine running OS 9 just for the fact that it is a Mac. Anyway, any old versions of iTunes that are still on the Apple are easily downloadable by going here: For example, if you wanted iTunes 9.2.1 for OS X 10.4, you would type it in the Downloads search box, which would lead you here: and click on the first result. Here is the way I get files off the web that no longer exist. Simply right-click (hold ctrl then click the mouse button), and 'copy link' ('copy link' is how it appears in my 10.4.11, your operating system or browser choice may vary): Paste the link in a new tab of your browser, and delete the entire beginning of the address all they way up to and including the final forward slash /. If you did this correctly this will leave you with the file name: Mac_OS_9.2.2_Update.smi.bin Do a web search for 'ftp Mac_OS_9.2.2_Update.smi.bin' and you'll find a download site somewhere! ![]() FileZilla is a free FTP client which is available for most of the popular operating systems including MAC OS. Here are all of the OS 9 updates. The problem with that Australian link is that it contains updates for the British, Australian, and International versions of the files. Try and install them on a North American English version of OS 9, and you'll get an error. Portland State University has an archive of the OS 9 updates for North American users: ftp://ftp.oit.pdx.edu/help/macos/ I have to say, it's an absolute shame that users have to go to these lengths. Outlook 2016 on Mac doesn't allow ActiveSync even to consumer. Way to sync calendar and contacts from the various popular cloud services. Location of 'Sync Services' within Mac Outlook 2016 I have read several articles online that instruct me to go into the Outlook Preferences and then click on the 'Sync Services' icon. The problem is that I don't see 'Sync services' anywhere. Upgraded to MS Office 2016 (now at v15.18) on my 17' MacBook Pro and installed the latest service pack as recommended for Exchange 2010 to work with this Outlook upgrade. When I open Outlook 2016 it works ok for a while then changes to a 'Sync pending for this folder' status. Outbound emails seem to be processing correctly, but the inbound folders do not update so I don't know when new email arrives unless I check it on my phone or open the old Outlook 2011 version. Has anyone else run into this and/or found a resolution? I was able to solve my problem in Outlook 2016. I don't know if this would solve yours but this is what I did: 1. Turn on logging for troubleshooting (Tools -> Sync Errors -> Gears icon in the right) 2. Close Outlook completely and then open it, let it run until the loop begins. Analyze the log file. I was able to see the pattern of the item not being synced, it turned out to be a Cancellation Meeting request that was corrupted, but the logs provided a ItemID. Unfortunately, is not possible to search by ItemID, only through EWS (Exchange Web Services) so I had to do a small project using C# to logging, search for the item and delete it. Once I did that, just closed all instances of outlook and the remaining items started syncing. Hope any of this helps. Hi, I have a similar issue with Outlook:Mac 2011. The status bar keeps showing 'Downloading attachments0/1' then 'Sync pending for this folder'. It just keeps cycling, about once a second and is very annoying. I've turned on error logging but there are no errors logged. ![]() ![]() I am considering uninstalling Outlook:Mac and all files, then reinstalling but I think that's a fairly drastic solution and I don't know if it will solve the issue since it's related to syncing. To make reinstalling more difficult, Microsoft no longer allow downloading the 2011 (or 2013) versions, so I'll need to dig out the backup disc. I have nearly 6,000 items in my email going back 10 years, so I guess the error could be in any of them. It appears that updating to the latest version won't help either, so my options seem to be use Mail or the (rather awful) browser version. Any other hints? You will see the grid of icons. Then, find the 'Settings' icon and tap on it. • Scroll and tap on the 'Safari' item The Settings screen is longer than the actual screen of the iPhone or iPad, so to reach the 'Safari' section you will need to scroll the screen down a bit by dragging on the screen with your finger. When you see the Safari item, tap on it to see the options for Safari. • Scroll down and tap on 'Block Cookies' Block Cookies is located in the Privacy & Security section. In a sense, they both relate to allowing or blocking 'third-party cookies', although the distinction between the two given choices is fairly subtle. Referring to on the matter indicates that the ' Allow from Current Website Only' choice means strictly that only the website you are viewing is allowed to set cookies on your iPhone. ' Allow from Websites I visit'. Ok this one's complicated: Say there's a website that you normally visit, but you're not on that website right now, you're on another website, but that website has embedded content from the first website. With this setting, that content will be allowed to set and read cookies on your computer. In other words, say you normally visit, but you're not on YouTube right now, you're reading someone's blog. And they've embedded a YouTube video in one of their posts. With this setting, because you normally visit YouTube (even though you're not on it right now) YouTube is permitted to create and read (only their own) cookies at that point. This is the default setting and is slightly more permissive than the other ' Allow from Current Website Only' setting. You need to pick which option you want to enable. The default ' Allow from Current Website Only' is probably fine for most needs. If you're a little more cautious but still want most websites to work, you might select ' Allow from Current Website Only'. • You have configured your Cookies settings Congratulations, you just configured Cookies in Safari on iOS.
